If replacing your lawn just isn’t possible – you can still reduce the amount of water and mowing it requires – check out https://www.prairienursery.com/resources-guides/no-mow-resources/. Their seed can be used on existing lawns and can (over the course of a few years) significantly reduce water usage and frequent mowing. There are also several varieties of native sod available that look and feel like a “regular” lawn but only use ½ the amount of water and can be mowed substantially less frequently. Native Bent Grass is a great one!
