Now is the time to rethink your lawn. A typical lawn consumes >10,000 gals of water each year. By replacing even part of your lawn with native, water-wise plants, you can save tons of water & help support our birds, bees and bugs. For great alternatives, don’t miss the Going Native Garden Tour. Go to: www.goingnativegardentour.org for details. The North Bay tour is on Saturday, April 9th and the South Bay tour is on Sunday, April 10th, 2016. Both tours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Take your kids to a local farm! They can help pick out produce for dinner and visit the chickens and other farm animals too. Local farm options include: Full Circle Farm in Sunnyvale, http://fullcirclesunnyvale.org/ and Veggielution in San Jose, http://veggielution.org/.
Make it a “green” Easter by decorating with organic Easter lilies, tulips, potted herbs and/or small branches from your own back yard. It will be environmentally friendly, AND easier on your wallet as well. Shop at local florists and greenhouses to support local businesses and reduce the need for long-distance trucking and shipping.

Make window washing easier –wet one microfiber cloth with warm water, use another one to dry & presto, no more streaks! If you need a deeper clean, use a mixture of 1 part ammonia to 3 parts water with just a squeeze of dish soap.
